Hi,
I am currently on my first OPT which expires in June second week. The company which I am working for is an everified company, hence I applied for my STEM extension last week(I did not get the receipt of confirmation/the new OPT STEM extension card till now). As the STEM extension rules say that we can work for a maximum of 180 days without getting out OPT card, I thought its fine and hence applied a little late.
The problem here is that my company is getting acquired by another company(this company is not e-verified, but they are planning to get everified, don't know when). It is still in the process of acquisition and the deal is expected to close by July. As this company is not everified(as of now) I cannot work for this company after my first opt expires, till it gets the everified status. As is a general phenomena that when a bigger company acquires another company, some cost cutting might happen.
I have a few questions.
1) Do you guys suggest applying for a H1B, with my current company (The problem is that even if my current company applies H1B, I cannot work for the new company as my H1 will be in processing and the new company is not everified, and I would be out of status. I cannot face this situation if the new company gets everified status before my first opt expires, but I am not sure if this is going to happen).
2)If I file my H1b and the new company decides to not take anyone from the previous company, then my opt would have been canceled as I have applied for H1, and I would not also get H1.
3)If I get my H1 approved before we get removed, I would have only 1 month(grace period between H1 jobs, I assume) to get a new job and transfer my H1.
4)Also I dont know if I apply for H1 during the time of acquisition, I am kinda confused what happens with the processing.
I am really sorry if there is a similar post, but I could not find any. Also I could jolt down only the above scenarios. Please help if there are any other scenarios I missed out.

You can still get a 1 year extension claiming that your PERM application is still pending. It all depends on the officer that the decision has not been made on PERM application.
The PERM is already denied and you can not get the extension based on the denied PERM.

First of all please forgive me for creating a new thread. I am just trying to see whether any one in the same boat and what it could be.
I just found soft luds on my previous H1B which was approbed in 2006 Feb and I-140 which was approved in Dec - 2006 (I-140 lud was after one week of H1B Luf change). I wonder what it could be? I know there is no logic and it is hard to predict what it might be. May be some standard updates as some one suggested. But these two did not change in years.
Any way, any one in the same boat?

I checked with attorney and I believe that is true, PP for H1b is not carried over on RFE reply. Response to RFE will go in a regular queue for evaluation. But, I hope this is not the case.

Sorry, I was not sure what test I missed. I thought everything was done and was mentioned in I-693. I do not have copy of I-693 I submitted. I will try to get it from doctor. Pending of that, is this common test which I must have it and mention it on the I-693? I need to submit just TB Skin test or everything?

I am working for a consulting firm at present. I got job offer for a permanent position with the client that has same job duties and title. But the salary is about $20, 000 lower than what my consulting firm is paying now. My labor was applied with a higher salary. If all those in NY get together, it will be easier to plan joint visits to congress people: house members and senators. Even if you don't have a car, we will be able to coordinate better if we know you are willing to spare some time.

With GC process bound to take long, staying at the same place to avoid changing address may be a big challenge.
Has anybody considered using PO box for address on I-485? My lawyer did not allow me to use PO box during July 2 filing.
Will it be possible to go online and change to PO box address for I-485?

I don't think that's possible. USCIS wants a physical address where you stay and will not deliver mail to PO box. In fact there is no forwarding of documents sent by USCIS too. They are all returned to USCIS.
This issue I think originates from the fact that USCIS wants to know where all aliens are physically staying.
I wanted to have a PO box to avoid any issues with mail theft and my lawyer said its not possible.
Anything different coming from your lawyer would be welcome.

It's time for USCIS to implement the regulation. I suggest we as IV members or individuals, sent fax or mail to USCIS Director. Hopefully things will change and if not we do not loose.

On page towards the bottom it prompts the doctor to enter details of the tb skin test.
Did u actually take the test? If you did, then perhaps ur doc missed it.
If i remember correctly, the doc i went to gave us two copies of the form, one that was sealed for uscis and the other for our reference. Anyway, if they dont have a copy of it, get a new one and make sure this info is filled out and any attach any additional relevant doc and send it to uscis.

but an animation made by swift doesn't have problems because there's no actionscript or movie clips involved.. so you can edit it.
