Just buy one now. Rumours are pointing towards a Q4 or Q1 2012 release. No point in waiting that long. The iPhone 4 is a great device, get the white one if you want to be different. :D

All I know is there are two 17-inch ACDs one with a gray translucent apple logo and one with a silver shiny apple logo. Performance\Quaility is the same.

eagerly awaiting Aperture 3.1 to speed a few things up and please add pinch zoom for the MBP users, even Lightroom has pinch zoom.
I'm happy with the new Aperture but these tiny little things can be improved.
There is pinch zoom in the browser view and while working with Faces, just not while editing a picture.
IMHO, pinch zoom gets in my way more often than not. I find myself accidentally triggering it while dragging a selection in Faces or the browser. I strongly prefer more intentional control over something like that in a pro photo package ...
That having been said, it would be nice to be an option.

Oh my god I was literally JUST about to post a thread on the no-quit-chrome problem when I saw this thread... hope you don't mind me hijacking, but I'll just state a couple of things that happened:
~woudn't quit, so I loaded force quit from the apple logo in the corner, which wouldn't even do it on the first try, but it quit on the second force quit
~reinstalling seems to solve the problem for the first couple openings of the app but then the problem arises again
~running the new beta, but I doubt that has anything to do with it cuz I saw THIS testimony, so....
ANyway, I might just downgrade back cuz Chrome is my main browse, but maybe I'd just switch to safari... it DOES have some improvements in 10.7 :D

Turbo Boost effectively lets a processor speed up when it's not using all of its cores by 'shutting off' the cores that aren't in use. Off the top of my head the i5 3.1Ghz can Turbo Boost to 3.4Ghz while the i7 3.4Ghz can run to 3.8Ghz. The real world difference is relatively small but can be worth a couple of frames a second in a game or a few seconds off a benchmark.

Depending on the current number of cores being used and if additional processing power is required, the CPU will slowly increase the clock rate for the currently active cores. I have been using a that crucial stick in my 15" pb and my wife in her 12" ibook. both have been running great. Just my opinion, but I would recomend getting mac certified.

Samsung gives 3 years even for OEM.I have never used a Samsung drive, nor do I know anybody who has. Do they actually make their own? Or do they get drives relabeled from another company?

I have the same, but haven't had a chance to take mine in! 13" Ultimate with a stuck pixel. It was very saddening to find it - although actually it makes no difference to using it...

I'll be there in my hospital scrubs by 6pm. This is turning out to be a great week. Started on a down with me being sick for 4 days after a flu shot. Wed my son turns 12, Thursday we are going to the hockey game (go lightning) and Friday I'm bringing home a big cat.

That's probably it then. You have to install RAM in the G5 in matched pairs, meaning same speed and capacity.

I'm gonna give it until the 3rd week of Oct is over, then I'll give up and just buy a used PB 667 to hold me over till the new stuff comes out. But I'll be darned if I pay $3200 for an 800mhz G4, I don't care how sexy it is.

The source material is analogue.Wow! Just wow. First, your movie editor cannot change your source footage. Second, DV is Digital Video. If you have analog video, then it impossible for it to be DV.
